As the hub for Chinese studies at ANU, the Australian Centre on China in the World (CIW) facilitates cross-campus, national, and international research and teaching collaborations to promote greater understanding of the Chinese world — the People’s Republic of China, Taiwan, and the Chinese diaspora. CIW is the place to come to understand China and the Chinese world.
The CIW Visiting Fellowship Program brings leading researchers to the ANU campus to conduct and share research that promotes the study of the Chinese world.
This Fellowship opportunity is for scholars of all academic disciplines who are based in Australian and overseas academic institutions.
Eligibility
- Applicants must have at least a higher degree (PhD) or equivalent professional experience, research and publications.
- Institutional affiliation to a University or equivalent research or cultural organisation is required.
- Fellowships are open to Australian (non-ANU) and international researchers.
Value and benefits
Each Visiting Fellow will be provided with:
- AUD$6,000 (domestic-based) and AUD$12,000 (international-based) maximum allowance in costs towards economy-class travel and accommodation in Canberra;
- An ANU office space with computer and printing facilities;
- ANU Library borrowing privileges;
- Access to ANU facilities and events.
Funding will be provided on the basis of reimbursement of expenses (receipts required). Visitors will require additional funding from other sources to cover their living expenses. Please note that funding cannot be used to support family members and dependents who are travelling with the Visiting Fellow.
Visitors will be provided with office space, computing/internet services, and limited administrative support.
