With the rapid advancement of e-commerce in China,  technological innovation in mobile payment has led to the explosive growth of  m-commerce.  This seminar reports on a study exploring why China has adopted mobile payment much more widely  and faster than western countries. The research adopts case studies and interviews in greater China to analyse the major mobile payment systems and their impacts. It also examines the impact that mobile payment technology is having on customer behaviour to clarify whether technological innovation offsets the advantages of traditional payment systems.

About the Speaker

Dr. Mei-Tai Chu is Associate Professor and Program Director of Master of Business Information Management and Systems at La Trobe Business School. She has extensive career both in industry and academia as a researcher, educator, consultant, and author with multi-disciplinary background whose expertise relates to knowledge management, communities of practice, innovation management, and robotic technology embedded social innovation.
