The eminent Chinese economist Yao Yang, currently visiting the Centre for Contemporary Chinese Studies, will offer three lunchtime seminars in August on the state of the Chinese economy. This is an excellent chance to get your head around the policy debates in Beijing as China re-orients its growth model, as well as the social and economic forces animating the recent collapse in global commodity and Chinese equity markets.

Seminar 1: China’s export-led growth model and its transition
12:30-2:00pm, Tuesday 4 August

Seminar 2: Imbalances and rebalancing
12:30-2:00pm, Tuesday 11 August

Seminar 3: Income distribution and social justice
12:30-2:00pm, Tuesday 18 August

All seminars will be held in the Sidney Myer Asia Centre, Room 116.
